“How to ask someone to Prom”

You might want to take a look at this, and pay very close attention if you want some advice about how to ask a girl or boy to go to PROM. Brookside Junior Jessica Islas, says that you or anybody can seek her out for advice. Prom is one of the main events in high school, especially at Waukegan High School (WHS) so here is what Jessica has to say about this topic…

How should somebody ask someone to go to Prom with them?  She answers happily: “First of all, talk to that person, and be their friend.  Well, basically, we as girls know what to do.  Guys are the ones that need more advice.”  Alejandra Alfaro another Brookside junior also answers with a smile: “Boys should bring flowers or something special while asking that girl to go to Prom. What I expect in a boy is for him to treat me nice and be sweet.”  Jessica adds, “A boy has to ask me instead of me asking him, or that person has to ask me instead of me asking that person.”

How should somebody ask someone to go to Prom with them?

Jessica answers happily: “First of all, talk to that person, and be their friend.  Well, basically, we as girls know what to do.  Guys are the ones that need more advice.”

Jessica adds, “A boy has to ask me instead of [my] asking him,.”

What are Jessica’s expectations of a boy?  “A boy needs to be confident; the same goes to the girls. They also need to be REALLY SWEET!!!  Romantic.  Ask my parents for permission, if they can let me go to Prom with him.”

Why is it that a boy needs to ask you, instead of you asking him?  Jessica says:  “A girl should respect herself.  Basically, that’s the tradition; a boy has to ask the girl to go out with him, and if she wants to marry him, and ask her to go to Prom, etc.”

One last thing that Jessica said: “I would want a boy to respect me at all times, and even when nobody is looking, be sweet, and enjoy the day while we are together. Because when they don’t they  ruined the day, the party, and the entire moment. To treat me nice and love me with all his heart.”
