I am SO excited for graduation. It’s been a great four years here at WHS, but I think everyone’s ready to move on. However, I’m going to college, and a lot of my friends are going to college, and we’re going to be really far away from each other soon. How do I stay friends with everyone?
Everyone’s Best Friend
Dear Best Friend,
Realistically, it will be a beast of a task to stay friends with every single person you’re friends with now, and it probably won’t happen to the extent that you’re hoping. With Facebook, however, keeping in touch these past few years has been easier than it ever was before! All of your friends are only a point and click away. Besides, the ones who are meant to stay friends with you throughout college and beyond will continue to be there for you without fail. Enjoy graduation — I know I will!
I know a lot of girls say real men cry, but I don’t think so. I don’t cry, for I am a man, and that’s how things are supposed to go. I am a little worried about graduation, though. It’s going to be the last time we’ll all be at school together, all these girls are gonna be hugging and crying, and I’ll admit, it is going to be sad. Let’s say, hypothetically, I shed a tear at graduation. Andy, manly man to manly man, how do I keep from crying at graduation?
Dear Macho Nacho,
Yes, I’ll speak with you on man-to-man level, because I also take pride in my manliness. I won’t be caught dead crying on the last day of school or graduation, but I will say that if you are at all sad about it, crying is very possible. My advice to you is this: bring a pair of sunglasses to hide your eyes if they get a little watery. Even if it’s cloudy like last year, wearing sunglasses when it’s cloudy (or at night) makes you look cooler anyway!
You’re a senior, right? What was your favorite part of high school?
Dear Mr. Wonderful,
You’re right, I am a senior! What a keen observer you are. I’d have to say my favorite memory from high school will always be going down to Peoria the first time the basketball team went to State back in 2009. We all went. We were all freshmen, but we had swag anyway. The freezing 5-hour bus rides back and forth, the “cool” upperclassmen I met, and being decked out in so much Bulldog pride made that the best weekend ever. Tell me about your favorite memories!
