The “Cake Boss” Buddy Valastro came to the Genesee Theatre on Friday December 7, 2012. Buddy came running down the middle aisle, giving high fives, then shot t-shirts out to the audience with a gun. He talked about how family was an important thing during the holidays, and how all of the things that he was going to show us would be easy to make. Buddy went on to make four cakes. The first one was a heart-shaped cake that he turned into a Santa! His second, with fondant, he turned into a Christmas present. Another was a winter cake that looked like it had gone through a blizzard but Buddy gave himself the challenge of decorating a cake like a Christmas tree within 43 seconds–and did it. Buddy is a very funny guy.
Not only did Buddy teach how the cakes should be decorated, but he also decided to give them away. He made little games for the audience to win the cakes he made. All were very cute, funny and entertaining. The show ended with a story about the meaning of Christmas, and how Buddy wouldn’t have it any other way. I thought that the show was nice because it wasn’t all about how to decorate cakes.
There was a nice feeling around the theatre and Buddy’s personality made me laugh. I would highly recommend your seeing the show when Buddy comes back. Get more information by visiting the Genesee theatre online.
