Pizza Wars

March 13, 2013 marked a very important date in WHS history.  On this day, Waukegan High School hosted its very first “Pizza Wars” to benefit the Leukemia Research Foundation.

Sponsored by the senior class officers, the event brought together pizza restaurants located in Waukegan, including Papa Johns, Jack’s, Anastasia’s, Jimano’s, Mike’s and Potesta’s.  These perveyors competed for the title of Best Pizza in Waukegan. The $5 entry fee per person, entitled participants to sample each of the pizzerias’ pizzas, and then vote anonymously on who they thought had the best pizza.

After the votes were tallied, Mike’s Pizza was named the best pizza in Waukegan!  Proceeds from this event went to the Leukemia Research Foundation. The event raised $600, as well as a $300 donation from WHS’ very own
